  This week we have had the pleasure of meeting Gracelyn (4) and Addilyn (2), both congenital BK’s adopted from China. Big sister Gracelyn has been in the U.S. for two years and this will be her second prosthesis, so she is guiding little sister Addilyn, who arrived just two months ago, through the process. Amy Purdy to join Season 18 Cast of Dancing With The Stars!

It’s official!   After she takes care of business in Sochi, Paralympic snowboarding champion Amy Purdy is taking on a new challenge–partnering with DWTS chamion Derek Hough to compete on Dancing with the Stars! New cast was announced today on Good Morning America. Wounded Warrior Max Gauthier, above knee amputee, Running Again!

Meet Max Gauthier and his identical twin brother, Jake. Both men were serving our country in Afghanistan when Max was injured. South Orlando Rowing Open House Event on 9/8/2012!

Here’s a great opportunity for our Orlando friends! South Orlando Rowing recently received a donation for adaptive rowing which allowed them to purchase 2 fixed seats along with an adaptive rowing shell, oars, and stabilizing pontoons. They are having an Open House event on Saturday, September 8th from 8:00am -Noon. No experience necessary! They will teach you to row!

5K Fundraising Event for Aimee Copeland, “Today Show” video, 07/01/2012 Today Show video

POA patient Jean Law traveled to Augusta, GA last weekend to participate in a 5K fundraiser. The event was organized by supporters of Aimee Copeland, a young woman who was nearly killed by a flesh eating bacteria. Jean lost both her legs to a similar bacteria a few years ago.
