Great article on 39-year-old April Holmes, who is set to compete in the 2012 Paralympics, and fully intends to win both the 100 and 200-meter sprints.  This will be April’s third Paralympics.  She competed in the 2004 Athens games, and won a bronze medal in the long jump. In the 2008 Beijing games, she was in first place when she stumbled and fell.  Although bleeding and devastated, April got back up and finished the race. Five days later, she won the 100 meters.  That’s the kind of determination that makes her a winner as she continues to walk her journey. April Holmes, A run with purpose, Orlando Sentinel, 8/30/2012
