An editorial by Karen Hughes, Web/Social Media at POA YOU ARE NOT ALONE My heart goes out to you. I lost my leg above the knee to cancer when I was just 13 years old, and have known the fear and despair you must feeling as you look down at your missing limb(s) and think, “what kind of life am I going to have now?” If I could, I’d visit
Sending a huge shout out and congratulations to POA’s **MeiMei White!** MeiMei finished FIRST in the Youth Category at the Paratriathlon Regional Championship held in Clermont, FL on March 23rd. She is now one of the Top Contenders for the National Championship!!! WOW! Great job, MeiMei! We are so proud of you!! Article from USA Triathlon Florida Region website

Congratulations going out to Ronnie Dickson! He took second place at the American Bouldering Series National Championships held February 22-23, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO! Six climbers from across the country participated in the first ever USA paraclimbing event!

Jodi’s Bainter’s book, “Make it Morning,” is the story of her family’s journey after her son, Jake, was accidentally run over by a riding lawnmower in 2004. The injuries Jake suffered eventually led to the amputation of one of his legs above the knee. We are excited to let you know that Jodi’s book has just been released and is available for purchase on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble
10-year-old Cameron, an above knee amputee, enjoyed a climb on POA’s rock climbing/training wall during a recent visit to our office. We love introducing our patients to new things and helping to instill a “no limits” attitude in them!
Our own Ronnie Dickson made the cover of the Aug/Sept issue of “Amp It Up” magazine! Check out his article, “Amputation: an opportunity for a better life.” —-> Amp It Up article by Ronnie Dickson
