Franklin Mejias, Jr. of Venezuela was on a family vacation in Miami when the unthinkable happened – he contracted an aggressive bacterial infection. Doctors fought to save his life, but in order to do so they were forced to amputate his hands and both his legs. WFTV Orlando News was at our facility to interview Franklin Mejias, a young boy who contracted a near deadly bacterial infection which led to the amputation of his hands and both of his legs. POA is providing Franklin’s prosthetic limbs, and in a few months he hopes to be fit with prosthetic hands at a facility in Tampa.
