POA’s Evan Strong (Gold)  and Amy Purdy (Bronze)  Earn Paralympic Medals in Sochi Today!

  Sending a huge shout out and congrats to Evan Strong and Amy Purdy on their amazing achievements in snowboard cross at the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia today!  Evan Strong earned a GOLD Medal in Men’s Standing Division.  You can see his 3rd round finish here.  Amy Purdy is also on the podium with a BRONZE medal in the Women’s Standing Division! POA Patient Athletes training for 2014 Paralympic Games

POA patients Amy Purdy and Evan Strong both made the U.S. Snowboarding team and are training for the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia!!!!! Currently, Evan is ranked #1 in the World and Amy is ranked #1 in the U.S. and #2 in the World in their sport of Para-snowboard Boardercross. Boardercross is a race down a hill and through jumps, burms, and obstacles. Congratulations, Amy and Evan!!!

Paralympic and WSF Para-Snowboard World Cup Champion Evan Strong demonstrates his vacuum prosthetic leg’s holding power

POA recently fit Paralympic and WSF Para-Snowboard World Cup Champion Evan Strong with a custom NPS vacuum socket. Before he left, we gave the prosthesis one final check. Stan and Mike were enlisted to lift him upside-down while clipped into his boots and snowboard – our version of an “inverted aerial.” A perfect example of the power of elevated vacuum! Evan was very pleased with the outcome and looks forward
