POA patient Franklin Mejias featured on WFTV Orlando News segment, “12-year-old nearly killed by bacterial infections get chance to walk,” 8/2/2012

WFTV Orlando News was at our facility to interview Franklin Mejias, a young boy who contracted a near deadly bacterial infection which led to the amputation of his hands and both of his legs. POA is providing Franklin’s prosthetic limbs, and in a few months he hopes to be fit with prosthetic hands at a facility in Tampa.

Anthony Burruto breaks records in USA Powerlifting Competition!

POA patient Amazzzzzing Anthony Burruto, a bilateral AK/BK amputee, competed against able-bodied athletes in the USAPL (USAPOWERLIFTING) competition. He entered into the Varsity & the Junior 16&17’s divisions. Not only did Anthony perform well, he broke both records, set new ones, and was awarded two Gold medals and a trophy!! Needless to say, there is already talk about the 2016 Paralympics in Rio!
