POA patient Jean Law traveled to Augusta, GA last weekend to participate in a 5K fundraiser. The event was organized by supporters of Aimee Copeland, a young woman who was nearly killed by a flesh eating bacteria. Jean lost both her legs to a similar bacteria a few years ago. During a visit to a re-hab facility yesterday, Mabio, a POA employee and below knee amputee, was given an opportunity to try running on a Zero Gravity treadmill which had just been delivered to the facility. Amy Purdy, World Cup Champion snowboarder, skateboarder, wakeboarder and inspirational speaker, is learning to run for the first time on her prosthetic legs!
