Watch ESPN SportsCenter “Between the Lines” on Sunday, Aug. 5th at 10:00 am, 11:00 pm (and shows throughout the day). They are featuring POA patient Bree McMahon in a segment entitled “THE COMEBACK.” (See synopsis below) Orlando teen soccer player Bree McMahon had her life planned out. 5K Fundraising Event for Aimee Copeland, “Today Show” video, 07/01/2012 Today Show video

POA patient Jean Law traveled to Augusta, GA last weekend to participate in a 5K fundraiser. The event was organized by supporters of Aimee Copeland, a young woman who was nearly killed by a flesh eating bacteria. Jean lost both her legs to a similar bacteria a few years ago. “Ski Pioneer,” a film inspired by life story of the first U.S. Amputee Skier

Paul “Bud” Leimkuehler, a speed skater, lost his leg while serving our country during World War II. Determined not to allow his disability to keep him from living an active life, he crafted his own prosthetic leg. Later, Bud’s desire to ski led him to create ski outriggers, and he became the first amputee skier in the U.S.! His granddaughter wrote a screenplay inspired by his life, entitled “Ski Pioneer.”
